Most electric trolling motor will operate with any deep cycle 12-volt marine battery. However for the longest run time and lifespan lithium ion phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries are recommend. Here’s why.

With Lithmate Lithium you can use all of the power of the battery, meaning that a 100 Ah battery from Lithmate Lithium is equal to 200 Ah in lead acid batteries.
