Mercruiser 864395T01 4.3L. 5.0L, 5.7L & 6.2L Heat Exchanger (With Hose) Replacement
Replaces Mercruiser part no. 864395T01
Used on Mercruiser engine:
Various GM 4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L & 6.2L engines.
*NOTE: There are two configurations. One with hose (this listing) and one without (864395T). See third photo for comparison. The hose sometimes gets in the way of the belt and pulleys. Click here for the non-hose version.
As far as function:

WITH HOSE: the hose drains a full surge tank into the inbound glycol circuit to the recirculating pump.
- There was an engineering change at Mercruiser a while back to add a hose that runs from the surge tank to the glycol / Fresh Water return fitting and it works great. We think the hose may have been removed as part of a cost save.
- WITHOUT HOSE: the glycol is drained from the surge tank (the upper tank in the pictures) via drains under the surge tank that you can't see
